Research & Evaluation - 6 months

Worked on departmental policy and General Orders

Worked on the research and implementation of various projects, such as Command Discipline, creation of the Downtown Section, creation of the City Noise Ordinance.

       

Training Section - 6 months

Class Counselor for Police Evidence Technician class. Assisted in developing training curriculum for the Police Evidence Technician program.  Instructed at the Regional Training Center in Crime Scene Processing Techniques. Assisted in developing the Police Technician training manual.

 

Technician Unit - 17 years

Crime and accident scene investigation; photography, process various scenes for fingerprints, scene diagrams, collection and preservation of physical evidence, courtroom testimony.  Expert in fingerprint identification, senior field training officer for new   technicians.  Instructed police recruits in the collection and preservation of  physical evidence.  Investigated hundreds of serious & fatal motor vehicle accidents.

 

- Judicially accepted as an Accident Reconstructionist in New York State Courts.

- Judicially accepted as a Fingerprint expert in New York State Courts.       

- Reconstructed hundreds of motor vehicle accidents

- Taken part and participated in numerous  motor vehicle and pedestrian accident experiments

- Assisted in the development of an accident investigation curriculum for the trucking             industry and conducted a one day training seminar in Houston, TX.          

- Developed & presented photography and accident reconstruction seminars to the insurance industry.
